Great Hiking in Southern Belize

Hiking through Southern Belize

Once you get "tired" of looking out over the azul Caribbean Ocean waters from you lot at Sanctuary Bay, Belize, there is still plenty of exciting hiking to be done in the tropical rain forests.

Southern Belize is criss crossed with trails weaving through the forests, often connecting to Mayan villages, farms, waterfalls, caves, rivers, and, if you are lucky, a Mayan ruin or two.  Many times monkeys will be howling in the tree tops above you and lizards will be scurrying the brush as you walk around the bends.

Since there are no official hiking trail maps, it can be very easy to get lost in unfamiliar territory.  Make sure to ask around in the local villages about a knowledgeable guide of the area.

They will surely be able to point out various flora and fauna that you might have missed other wise.  For more information on how to own property in Belize,
